Black History Month
1893, Chicago surgeon Daniel Hale Williams performed the first
successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart wound, in what would become
both a significant medical advancement, and a huge step in the fight for
Williams was one of the
nation's few Black Cardiologists/General Surgeons at the time. He opened
Provident Hospital and Training School for Nurses in 1891, the country's first
interracial hospital and nursing school.

Vacation Bible School,
VBS, will take place February 22nd-24th
9am-12pm. The Board of Christian Education, BOCE,
is looking for individuals that are interested in
sitting on the planning committee. There will be a

Urban Choice Charter School
- The School is
accepting applications for grades K-8. Applications are available at 545

High School Seniors who attend Mount Olivet are invited to participate in
a program designed especially for them. The purpose is for spiritual growth;
to gain crucial knowledge which will assist with life situations; and to
fellowship in gatherings with other Mt. Olivet high school seniors at

Arts & Crafts Ministry, Invitation

outreach is to provide handmade lap blankets, prayer shawls, scarves and hats to

- There will be

immediately following worship in the lower level of the church. Young Ladies in
