Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Stress and depression can ruin your holidays and hurt your health. Minimize your stress with these practical tips.

V     Reach out to the community, religious or other. Do not stay isolated

V    Be realistic and flexible. As families change and grow, traditions and rituals often change as well

V     Set aside petty differences

V    Make a budget and stick to it

V    Plan ahead to prevent last-minute scrambling

V   Learn to say no. Saying yes when you should say no can leave you feeling resentful and overwhelmed

V   Don't abandon healthy habits.  Eat healthy snacks, get plenty of sleep, exercise daily

V  Make some time for yourself. Just 15 minutes alone, without distractions can reduce stress

V    When you feel overburdened, get help

V    If you find yourself feeling persistently sad or anxious, talk to your Doctor or a  mental Health Professionals

Volunteers Needed, Christmas Dinner  - Board of Christian Education is gearing up for its Annual Christmas Dinner, which will take place on December 9, 2017 prior to the Christmas Play and Candlelight Service.  We are looking for volunteers to:

Bring Food Items - Serve - Cleanup

There will be a table with sign-up sheets available after service today in the Whitaker Hall.  We Need You!  Hope to see you then!

Volunteers Needed, 2nd Annual Youth Lock-In - All youth between the ages of 8-17 are invited to be apart the 2nd Annual Lock-In which will be January 19, 2018 from 7:00pm to 7:00am.  Adult Volunteers are needed to help make this Program a Success.    Please see Pastor P or sign up at Youth table after service.

2018 Program Dates Due, Dec 22nd - All Ministry Leaders, please submit your Program Dates for 2018 Church Calendar! Please see Brenda Caine or send to  by Monday, December 22.

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 12th Grade Program - High School Seniors who attend Mount Olivet are invited to participate in a Program designed especially for them. The purpose is for Spiritual Growth; to gain crucial Knowledge which will assist with life situations; and to Fellowship in gatherings with other Mt. Olivet High School Seniors, through monthly meetings. For more information, and to enroll 12th Graders, contact Rae Carson at 585.328-7528 or  There will be a short meeting after church, on Sunday, December 17th, up front of the organ, in the new sanctuary.

Teachers Needed -Youth Academy that takes place every 2nd and 4th Sunday is looking for teachers. If you feel led to teach one of our classes please see Pastor P or call the church 585.232.6742 ext. 24.

Volunteers Needed, Scouting - Become a Leader!, Volunteering with Scouting is rewarding and meaningful to both you and the kids.  Watching kids grow is one thing, leading them through the process is a totally unique experience.  Volunteering is the key that unlocks the confidence kids need to stand on their own two feet. It allows adults to share inspiring experiences with children, provide mentoring, and make lifetime experiences that put a bunch of good kids on the path to a great life.

Remember, Volunteering will:

Give Back to the Youth in Our Community!

Mt. Olivet's Facility Issues - Well done, good and  faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness! Matthew 25:21

Mt. Olivet's Facilities Committee asks that you help identify facility issues and concerns throughout our church.  To share concerns and issues, feel free to send an email to  or call the office to share. The committee will work diligently to address concerns and thanks every member, for your faithfulness.

Van Drivers, Needed - Drivers needed for Van Ministry.  Please contact Ernest Hicks at 425-4088 or Norman Strothers at 732-4666.

AB Girls Ministries - There will be monthly meetings  on the fourth,4th, Sunday at the lower level of the church immediately following worship in the lower level of the church. Young Ladies in grades 3 – 12 are asked to participate.  Stop by the table and sign up for the AB Girls Ministries here at Mt. Olivet.  See Latisha McCray President., ABW of Mt. Olivet

Children's Academy - This meeting will meet occur 2nd and 4th Sunday! All children will be dismissed immediately following the morning Hymn.   All parents please stop by the Youth Ministry table in the fellowship hall to update contact information. We want to keep everyone informed of all the wonderful upcoming events.
