February  is Heart Health Month

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for most races in the USA, including African Americans. Pride, jealousy, covetousness, and unforgiveness are equally damaging

Black History Month

In 1893, Chicago surgeon Daniel Hale Williams performed the first successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart wound, in what would become both a significant medical advancement, and a huge step in the fight for equality.

Williams was one of the nation's few Black Cardiologists/General Surgeons at the time. He opened Provident Hospital and Training School for Nurses in 1891, the country's first interracial hospital and nursing school.
