§  Worship and pray together.  Find a ministry and serve.

§  Remind teens to avoid texting & other distractions while driving.

§  Develop family rules about safe behaviors using electronic media.

§  Eat healthy meals and snacks. Drink more water.

§  Encourage and support daily physical activity. Avoid smoking and illicit drug use.  

§  Gather and share family health history. Avoid smoking and illicit drug use.

§  Encourage family members to get check-ups, screenings & vaccinations.

Limited Janitorial Services

Due to the limited support of Janitorial Services, all committees are asked to please take down the table and chairs that are used on Sunday for sign-up activities.

Condolences -  Mrs. Constance Jane Eli who passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olivet on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.  Condolences are extended to her family and friends.

Tickets Still Available, Apollo Theatre -  Great News! Tickets are still available for the The Winter Enrichment Trip to Apollo Theatre in NYC is fast approaching! Tickets are still available. The cost is $150.00 for wonderful fun filled day in New York including an amazing Ellington Experience at the historic Apollo Theater.  Please see Michelle Bealle for details.

Mt. Olivet's American Baptist Women - American Baptist Women of Mt. Olivet will be hosting a homework and tutoring program beginning Oct 30th. Mt. Olivet has a rich history of providing a tutoring program for the children in our community and we need to help children learn to become proficient readers now more than ever. Our theme is from 2nd Timothy, 2:15, “study to show thyself approved”.

We are reaching out to the children in the church as well as children on Van Auker across the street from the church. This is a very special mission to serve in Solidarity with our community and to provi de a much needed service. Sign up in Whitaker Hall after service to help this worthy cause! Men and Women are invited to serve.

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 12th Grade Program - High School Seniors who attend Mount Olivet are invited to participate in a program designed especially for them. The purpose is for spiritual growth; to gain crucial knowledge which will assist with life situations; and to fellowship in fun gatherings with other high school seniors, through monthly meetings. Children's Academy - This meeting will meet occur 2nd and 4th Sunday! All children will be dismissed immediately following the morning Hymn.

All parents please stop by the Youth Ministry table in the fellowship hall to update contact information. We want to keep everyone informed of all the wonderful upcoming events.

Bible Study - The Disciple Red Book class for Thursday, 6 pm,  will not start until October 16th. It is a small class. If you have not been in a Bible Study class at Mount Olivet, I invite you to join this class. You will learn and you will enjoy it. Irene Ingram is the facilitator.

Mt. Olivet Bowling Team - We have two teams and we bowl at Bowl a Roll on Fridays at 1:00 pm. If you are interested in bowling with us, please see Irene Ingram or Carol or Al Blair.
