CDC Ebola Update

This is the largest Ebola outbreak in history and the first in West Africa.  The CDC, along with other U.S. government Agencies and International Partners, are taking steps to respond to this rapidly changing situation. Ebola poses no substantial risk to the U.S. general population.

A person infected with Ebola virus is not contagious until symptoms appear.

Ebola is not spread through the air, by food or water.  The virus is spread through direct contact and/or via Body Fluid.  Direct Contact includes broken skin or mucous membranes.   Body Fluids include blood, urine, feces, saliva, and other secretions of a person who is sick with Ebola.  Also, Direct Contact with anything that is Contaminated with the virus such as   needles or infected animals can spread Ebola.

Early recognition of Ebola is important.

40 Day Spiritual Journey Through Lent

What is Lent? But perhaps more importantly, what isn’t it?

Lent is the 40 Day Season between Ash Wednesday and Easter.

Lent is a season for all believers to remember our need for a Savior and to draw close to God as we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ.  Lent is most commonly observed with fasting and increased focus and devotion to the things of God. You often hear people ask “What are you giving up for Lent?” and that is certainly one way to observe the season; but more importantly it is about what spiritual things we are Adding to our lives and walk with Christ.
