Take Time To Pray, Read Your Bible and Get Preventive Care!  Preventive care includes health services like screenings, check-ups, etc. to detect illness at an early stage when treatment is likely to work best. Getting recommended preventive services and making healthy lifestyle choices are key steps to good health and well-being.

Sunday Announcements

Condolences - Condolences are extended to all of the families who lost their love ones.  The Mt. Olivet Family is praying for all of you. 

Irene Ingram, Geneva Stokes, Michelle Bealle, and Joseph Williams lost a member of their family, Judy Baltimore, on Friday, August 14th.  Judy's home going Service was held on August 22nd in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Please keep them and their families in prayer.

Janet Caven-Dyce's father,   Adolphus “Sonny” Caven, passed away on Friday, July 31st in Kingston, Jamaica. Please keep Sister Dyce, her siblings and children in your prayers as they mourn the loss of their love one.   Please also pray for traveling mercies as Sister Janet and her family make their way to Jamaica to lay their loved one to rest on August 29th.

Youth Participation, We Need You! - Parents and youth please consider getting involved in Mt. Olivet's Youth Ministry.  Parents we need your ideas and help to keep our youth grounded in God’s word.  There will be a sign up table after church throughout this month. There are many areas that you can participate and serve.  Some are:

Church Directories - They will be on sale in Whitaker Hall after service.  If you had your picture taken by LifeTouch, the directory is FREE.  To all others, the cost of the Directory will be $6.00.  Contact any of the Communications Ministry representatives.  They will be happy to assist you.

Scout Leader, Needed - We are in need of someone who is interest in the development of our boys. Please help us keep Troop 46 going here at Mt. Olivet. Scouting reaches into the lives of our youth through fun-filled, educational activities. Please contact Cheryl Lattimore at 585.530-7618 for more information.

Food Pantry - The Food Pantry Ministry will be closed for the summer and will reopen on September 14th". Please continue to check the bulletin for the “item of the week”.

Walk to End Alzheimer's  -We look forward to doubling the attendance for next year’s conference and for the upcoming “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” on September 26, 2015. We will need all of your support and participation, so stay tuned.  Thank you again, The Alzheimer's Ministry

Arts & Crafts Ministry, Invitation - Join us! If you love to crochet and knit or want to learn how, join us on Wednesday, 12:00 noon to 2 PM each week in the Whitaker Hall. Bring your lunch! We eat, work and fellowship. Our mission and outreach is to provide handmade lap blankets, prayer shawls, scarves and hats to various groups and individuals. Thursday Tutoring Program, Mt. Olivet's ABW Ministries -

The American Baptist Women’s Ministry is pleased to announce the Tutoring Program. Sign up your children to participate! The focus will be on improving reading skills and completing homework. Tutoring is every Thursday from 6pm to 7:30pm. See you on Thursday!

“Reach For The Stars”

Tutoring for students in grades 1 thru 5 are welcome to come and receive support in homework and improving reading skills on Thursday’s from 6PM—7:30PM, Lower Level. Please see Gayle Harrison or send email to  for any questions.

AB Girls Ministries - There will be monthly meetings  on the fourth,4th, Sunday at the lower level of the church immediately following worship in the lower level of the church. Young Ladies in grades 3 – 12 are asked to participate. Please see Latisha McCray – ABW of MOBC President.

Children's Academy - This meeting will meet occur 2nd and 4th Sunday! All children will be dismissed immediately following the morning Hymn.   All parents please stop by the Youth Ministry table in the fellowship hall to update contact information. We want to keep everyone informed of all the wonderful upcoming events.

Children's Church - Children’s Church will meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday!

Sunday School  - Why should I come to Sunday School and bring my children and grandchildren? ...because it is easier to build strong Christian children than it is to repair broken men and women.  Help build a better church…a better community…a better world.
