Condolences to Mr. James and Mrs. Lois Norman on the loss of his sister International Opera Star Jessye Norman . Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Bell Auditorium , 712 Telfair Street, Augusta Ga. Mt. Olivet want to express our sympathy and let you know that our thoughts are with you. You can make a Memorial Contribution to: Jessye Norman School of Arts, 739 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901 online at www.jessyenormanschool.org. Condolences to Pastor Harvey on the passing of his pastor, Reverend Melvin Rodgers, on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee. Reverend Rodgers Installed Passtor Harvey in all five (5) of the churches that he served including Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held in Memphis, TN on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Prayers going out to Pastor Harvey and to the family of Reverend Rodgers. Youth Academy resumes in October . We Need Teachers! Please consider helping our youth grow spiritually by teaching them about God’s Word. Effective 10/2/2019 The Church Office will be closed during regular business days from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. This is to facilitate staff break. Please plan your access to the office accordingly. You may leave messages for the staff on the office voice mail at anytime. Please contact George Opira or Linda Davis with any questions. The Rochester Fire Department will conduct a Safety Audit of the facility in the near future. All hallways, including the basement and utility rooms must be clear   and   unobstructed. The Trustee Board has conducted a spot check of the facility and request your assistance to remove all items stored in the hallways and facility room . Please contact Perry Wheeler, Bobby Terrell or George Opira with any questions. Youth Pastor Position: Applicants can obtain a copy of the Job Description in the Church Office. QTR Board and Committee Reports are due on Friday, October 18th. Report package will be printed on Tuesday. Please email them to mtolivetbc@mtolivetrocny.com Youth will wear black bottoms and a fall colored top on October 20th . 2019 MOBC Church Homecoming is Sunday, October 27, 2019. Our Guest Speaker will be Dr. Angela Sims , President, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. This year’s Theme “Building to Serve” represents our 109th Year Anniversary and our 20th anniversary worshipping in the New Sanctuary. We are asking each member to support the Ministries of Mt. Olivet with a $109.00 Homecoming gift. Please don’t forget to indicate on your giving envelopes your gift. We thank you in advance for your continued support! The purpose is for spiritual growth; to gain crucial knowledge which will assist with life situations; and to enjoy fellowship with other high school seniors.
