Food Pantry Item of the Week - Instant Oatmeal
Nominating Committee Update: WE NEED YOU!!! Signing-up TODAY! Submit your name or someone else’s name for consideration for one of the Leadership Opportunities for 2020 . The nominating committee will begin vetting candidates right away with a goal of having the 2020 slate of officers posted by Friday, November 22nd if not sooner. Stop by our table TODAY and sign-up. Members of the nominating committee will be available to answer your questions and we will have position duties so you can make an informed decision. Thank you, Dr. Venessa Mitchell & Mr. Allen McClendon, Nominating Committee Co-Chairs. High School SENIORS: Mount Olivet has a program designed especially for 12th graders . The purpose is for spiritual growth; to gain crucial knowledge, which will assist with life situations; and to enjoy fellowship with other high school seniors. A 15-20 minutes overview has been planned for students and parents. On 2nd Sunday, November 10th , immediately after morning worship, we will meet in the Church Sanctuary - up front by the organ. CHRISTMAS Program Meeting: All children and parents please stay for a short meeting immediately after church . We will meet in the Old Sanctuary and discuss plans for our Annual CHRISTMAS Program. Please bring your new, gently used, and re-gifted items for our sale (no clothes or shoes) Remember to donate items that YOU would wish to BUY. The Christmas Program this year is entitled "Christmas Prophecies Fulfilled" This Program will be combine with our traditional Candlelight Service. Our Christmas Program Rehearsal Dates are: November 16th & 23rd @ 11:00am December 7th, 14th and 21 @ 11:00am For questions please contact Cheryl Lattimore or Clara Hunter or any member of the CORE Team Couple’s Ministry: Ball Room Dancing Classes every Wednesday. Class is 7:00pm to 8:30pm . Mike Williams from Buffalo, NY will come and teach Urban Ballroom Dancing and Marilyn Wynn will co- instruct with Mr. Williams. BENEFITS OF DANCING : Reduces stress - Improves posture and flexibility - Increases activity and energy Builds social skills - Fun way to lose weight A Dance Partner is not required to participate. The class will be open to all ages that would like to learn. Please see Larry and Esther Cresswell after service to sign up and get more information about the class. The Rochester Fire Department will conduct a Safety Audit of the facility in the near future. All hallways, including the basement and utility rooms must be clear   and   unobstructed. The Trustee Board has conducted a spot check of the facility and request your assistance to remove all items stored in the hallways and facility room . Please contact Perry Wheeler, Bobby Terrell or George Opira with any questions. Youth Pastor Position: Applicants can obtain a copy of the Job Description in the Church Office. Youth Invitation: All youth are invited to join our Youth Choir every Tuesday. The Youth Choir sings every 3rd Sunday and participate in the Order of Service. Mt. Olivet Youth and Parents - The Youth of Mt. Olivet are invited to participate in various Youth Activities and the Parents are asked to volunteer to help our youth grow in their relationship with God. There are various Youth Ministries Activities where you can become involved: Youth Choir - Jr. Ushers - Liturgical Dance - Friday Night socials (TBD) Christmas & Easter Plays - Easter Egg Hunt - Youth Day Service Projects - Bethlehem Village Annual Fish Fry - Local Enrichment trips Black History Month Activities - Community Day Vacation Bible School - Annual Youth Trip ( out of town) Sign-up at the Youth Table after service or see any member of the Youth Core Team: David Cowens, Juliette Rhodes-Cummings, Jackie Gainey, Ivena Grantham, Clara Hunter, Irene Ingram, Cheryl Lattimore, Teshia McCloud, Valerie Medley, Venessa Mitchell, Pam Williams.
